Good Hope goes into seven prisons in northern Malawi (a new prison Kamwanjiwa Prison was started in Mzuzu District in 2025) to show God’s love and share God’s word with the inmates there.
- Bringing them lunch once a month
- Distributing clothing and glasses as needed
- Teaching God’s word to the Bible study groups that are established
- Distributing New Testaments and Bible Lessons to all who attend a Bible Study Group
- Giving certificates for successfully completing Bible lessons
- Bible study groups are established in all the prisons, and they often meet daily together to study together.

Testimonies from Various Prisons
“After they discussed the lesson of PETER WALKS ON WATER. In all this story one inmate said, ‘’I have been touched by the kind of prayer that Peter prayed, a very short prayer just saying, “save me Lord.” Though it was short but Jesus heard it. But today many of us think if someone is doing good works he will be saved, and others think those who pray
long prayers are the one who are saved and others think those who pray in tongues are the one that are saved. but we see Peter just praying a short prayer but a prayer of faith. Am so much touched because am new to this place, this is my first time to attend Bible Study. As I was sitting down there, I was asking myself how I can be forgiven and have peace with God. Now I know that if I am going to acknowledge that I am a sinner and asked the Lord to save me He will hear me. I hope there is a reason God brought me here. My life will not be same again.”
“I’m so grateful for the lesson we had today with the coach. The story of the forgiving father really spoke to me, and I can’t stop thinking about it. I’m one of the inmates here in prison. I feel like I’m the prodigal son in the story I have made mistakes, and I thought I would never be accepted again.
But hearing that God’s love is bigger than my sins it’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Joining this Bible Study Group has been a blessing, and today’s lesson was a reminder that God welcomes me back with open arms, no matter what I’ve done.
I feel like I’ve been given a second chance, and I’m determined to make the most of it. The coach’s words really hit me hard, and I’m grateful for the support of this group. We’re all sinners here, but we’re learning to love and forgive each other, just like God loves and forgives us.
Thanks to GHM and the coach for bringing this lesson to us. It’s making a real difference in my life, and I know I’m not alone.”
“I want to testify that God is good to me. I was a very stubborn person, and I wouldn’t listen to anyone. My parents even hated me because of my stubbornness.
Being in prison is a privilege for me because it led me to God. “I
didn’t want to attend Christian sermons, but I saw people gathering for Bible study and ignored them. One day, I got sick, and they came to visit and pray for me. I saw love from them and decided to join their Bible study. “The lessons were amazing, and I was touched by the first lesson I read. It was about my life! I asked a friend what I should do because I’d done things that God wouldn’t forgive. They encouraged me, saying God still loves me. “I cried because of my sins that night and asked God for forgiveness. After praying, I felt happy inside. I’m now a member of this Bible study. “Thanks to Good Hope Ministry coming to the prison, my life is changed. We thank God for helping me know Jesus Christ. May the Lord continue to bless you. GHM”
